This is by far my favorite comfort food and its a healthy dessert for the kids as well!

Directions

 

  1. Prepare apples by coring them but leaving them whole with their skin.
  2. Mix raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, brown sugar and butter together.
  3. Place apples at the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Spoon fruit-nut mixture from step 2 into the middle of each apple, dripping a little over the top.
  5. Add 1/2 cup apple juice at the bottom fo the crockpot.
  6. Cover & cook 3 hours on low.
  7. Serve warm.

Ready in : 15 minutes

Delicious! Just like I remember. The walnuts were a nice touch. I added some packaged caramel mix at the end which was really good.

Very good. I poured some maple syrup over them at the end and that really made it delicious.
