I make this sweet potato casserole every Thanksgiving and it's always gone by the end of the day, no matter how much I make. Sweet potatoes are one of my favorite foods and this casserole really brings out their flavor.

Directions
  1. Peel, boil and mash the sweet potatoes.
  2. Mix the sweet potatoes, sugar, half the butter, milk, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl and spoon the mixture into a greased baking pan.
  3. Combine remaining butter with the brown sugar, flour and nuts (if you want nuts) and sprinkle it over the top of the potato mixture.
  4. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. 

 

Serve : 8

Ready in : 20 minutes, plus 25 minutes cooking time
