Hot Mulled Cider in a Crockpot

Nothing says autumn like the amazing scent of this cider wafting through the house. Make up a batch for a Halloween party, cool-weather get-together, or any time you're having people over to sit by a roaring fire.

Ingredients
2
cinnamon sticks
1 tsp.
whole cloves
1 tsp.
whole allspice berries
8 cups
apple cider
1/2 cup
packed brown sugar
1
orange, sliced, with rind
extra cinnamon sticks
Directions

Tie up the cinnamon, cloves and allspice in cheesecloth. Stir the cider and sugar together in the crockpot until the sugar dissolves; then add the cheesecloth bag and the orange slices. Cover and cook on Low for 3-5 hours. When done, discard spice bag and ladle into mugs; garnish with a cinnamon stick for stirring.
